The Relationship Between Participating in Online Parenting Communities and Health-Promoting Behaviors for Children Among First-Time Mothers: The Mediating Effect of Parental Efficacy

Purpose: To examine the mediating effects of parental efficacy on relationship between participating in online parenting communities and health-promoting behaviors for children among first-time mothers with infants toddlers.Methods: The participants were 174 who used communities. Data collected through self-report questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, 1-way analysis variance, Pearson correlation coefficient multiple linear regression performed. significance effect was verified using Sobel test PROCESS macro.Results: Significant predictors maternal age, maternity leave, monthly income, weekly use communities, daily satisfaction efficacy, which explained 51.0% children. Parental partially mediated mothers’ their children.Conclusion: Interventions to enhance should be developed promote health toddlers. Therefore, it is necessary consider needs child rearing care, develop that can provide qualitative information enable safe interactions mothers.
